TAIPEI EXPO PARK's Taipei Robot Pavilion is opening on Feb. 6!

The brand-new Taipei Robot Pavilion will be unveiled on Feb. 6, 2013 in the Xinsheng Park Area of TAIPEI EXPO PARK, with an impressive collection including robots showing the popular “Gangnam Style” dance moves, as well as the “NAO Robot” imported from France by National Taiwan University (NTU), and the violin-playing, basketball-shooting and wrestling robots, not to mention the numerous scale models of Gundam!

This tech-heavy, diverse and highly interactive show is a must-see for robot fans. The Taipei Robot Pavilion is due to open at 10:00 a.m. on Feb. 6th, in the Xinsheng Park Area. In praise of cutting-edge technologies, a group of androids enabled by a multi-axis, synchronized server and developed by the “robot museum” of Taipei Chengshih University of Science & Technology (TPCU) will perform the horse-riding dance from the wildly popular "Gangnam Style" at the opening ceremony. Featuring a diverse and highly interactive robotics-themed collection, the Taipei Robot Pavilion is Taiwan’s first exhibition hall supported by the joint effort of high-tech industries, governments, academia and research institutes nationwide, notably: the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Industrial Technology Research Institute, NTU, Minghsin University of Science and Technology, TPCU and SHA YANG YE Industrial Co. The aim is to advance robotics-related educational initiatives and industries. Starting with the opening afternoon on Feb. 6th, tickets to the Pavilion will be available for NT$ 50 each, or NT$ 35 for group visitors. Meanwhile, a special NT$ 75 double-pavilion package will offer a content-rich, value-packed option to those interested in both the robots and TAIPEI EXPO PARK’s Pavilion of Future. To mark the launch of Taipei Robot Pavilion, the organizer has especially organized the “Dress Up as a Robot and Take Home a Robot at the Robot Pavilion” activity, and will give away limited-edition, adorable paper robots to anyone who dresses up as a robot, or incorporates robotic factors into the costume from Feb. 6th through Feb. 28th, while supplies last! Various other events will also be available throughout February in celebration of the Pavilion’s grand opening, such as a basketball-shooting contest versus robot and exclusive access to the LEGO ® Green City! These fun events are perfect for families to make this winter and the upcoming Chinese New Year memorable! For more information, visit the website of TAIPEI EXPO PARK. http://www.taipei-expopark.tw/
